October 11, 2016
Technology partners, policy makers, and clean energy advocates from around Los Angeles gathered at the La Kretz Innovation Campus late last week to celebrate the LACI grand opening. LACI is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting clean technology throughout Los Angeles.
The grand opening included speeches by founder of the organization Morton La Kretz and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Mayor Garcetti was especially supportive of bolserting sustainability in Los Angeles, saying “Clean technology is not only smart and responsible but also a terrific growth opportunity. For all those reasons, we should invest our time and resources into making it a huge success.”
Attendees of the ceremony were given tours around the 60,000 sqft LEED Platinum building, the highest certification for sustainable building possible. The guided tours showcased the campus’s many collaborative work spaces, testing and prototyping labs, and exhibits of exemplary green technologies.
The sustainable technology displays included a pilot unit of Norchem’s UltraPure™ Wastewater Treatment & Recycling System. The exhibit highlighted the award winning system’s impressive filtering and recycling ability, high-quality stainless steel construction, and significant contaminant reduction capabilities.
UltraPure™ removes most feed stream contaminants to non-detectable levels:
- BOD up to 95%
- COD up to 97%

The event also included a clean technology company showcase in which several dozen organizations displayed energy saving and cost cutting solutions. Among them was Norchem’s booth, at which attendees learned about how much UltraPure™ reduces water and heating costs by recycling wastewater and recovering heat from wastewater.
The Norchem booth also included information on NorVision™ Production & Utility Information software. NorVision™ fully integrates with your plant to improve operational efficiency by reporting and analyzing utility usage and production in real time.
