Norchem humbly accepts the 2021 Clean Green Innovation Award
The TRSA Clean Green Innovation Award recognizes outstanding efforts in environmental improvement by a company and/or facility implementing an innovative approach to increasing sustainability, reducing energy consumption and positively impacting the environment.
An inventor by nature, Kevin Minissian’s contributions to the industrial laundry space have revolutionized the industry’s approach to environmental issues and investment in “green” technology.
Since the company’s incorporation as Norchem in 1989, Kevin and his dedicated team developed environmentally advanced laundering chemical programs, by partnering with EPA on their design for environment initiative that ultimately led to the industry wide adoption of NPE/APE free chemistry. By the 1990s, Kevin focused on developing water filtration and water recycling system technology to optimize water conservation for all textile services segments.
Through the process of trying to help business owners be more efficient and environmentally friendly, Kevin invented the first Ceramic Wastewater Filtration and Recycling System for the commercial laundry industry, the UltraPure. This technology would eventually become the staple of wastewater treatment and water reclamation for the industry.
Today, NORCHEM’s two divisions, wash chemical solutions for textile care and advanced wastewater technologies, help companies realize their full potential, become independent from local water providers, and impact their communities by showing a commitment to sustainability. Kevin’s lifetime commitment to protect the environment but also assist the laundry industry in meeting water regulations and reducing water and sewer costs by cleaning the water for recycling shows his passion for the industrial laundering space and his contribution to the industry.
